Ruth Ifediora is a Senior Nurse Educator at Parkland Health and Hospital System, Dallas Texas. Ruth completed her studies at Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) (2001- Diploma in Nursing), Nigerian Army School of Nursing and Midwifery Yaba Lagos (2005 –Midwife), University of Texas in Arlington (2014 – Bachelor of Science in Nursing ), and Grand Canyon University in Arizona (2017-MSN-Ed). She is an American Psychiatric Nurses Association Suicide Prevention Competency Facilitator. She also teaches SAMA, Stop the Bleed, CPR, and ACLS.
As a devoted nurse advocate, a mentor, community activist, healthcare policy advocate, social change agent, and a philanthropist, Ruth has made it a life’s mission to help others through participation in the policy development processes that impact the public.
Currently, Ruth is a Board member of Lovebound International, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote health and development in America and African countries. She is a member of several nursing organizations where she serves in various capacities as a board member, secretary, committee chair, committee member, and treasurer. These include but not limited to American Nurses Association (ANA), American Psychiatry Nurses Association (APNA), Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD), National League for Nurses (NLN), Texas Organization of Nurse Executives (TONE), STTI and National Association of Nigeria Nurses in North America (NANNNA).
She has received numerous awards such as DAISY Nurse 2015, Great 100 Nurse DFW 2017, ANA Member of the year 2017, D magazine Excellence Nurse Award 2018, and Nominee for humanitarian award National League of Nurses 2018. She is the mother of three lovely kids.
Olicia Day BA
